  1. Hi Bob,
I tried emailing eSeaclear yesterday with the following but it bounced back, wrong address or Bobp over quota…
    Message was :
I’m planning to call in Antigua on a charter boat with a crew of 7 Canadian folks on April 29 or 30 for a 4 day visit.
Can I fill your form at present and send it now or must I wait for the day of arrival or just before ?
    Cheers
    RL

    1. Hi Richard,
Sorry about the trouble emailing…I will look into it.
You can register on eSeaClear now and file your Inbound Notification, including your intended dates of arrival and departure. You can always update later if plans change…like the wind…
      Enjoy Antigua.
      Cheers,
      Bob

  2. Hi everyone, Could someone update the Antigua status for travelers on charter yachts ? What’s the maximum validity days for PCR tests on Antigua ? Is Jolly Harbor a port of entry for charter yachts ? Thanks for your feedback.

    1. Hi Phil,
Jolly Harbour is now open for Clearing in and out for all vessels, including charter yachts. As for the PCR test validity, best to check with Health…it keeps changing…
      Enjoy your stay in Antigua.
      All the best,
      Bob

  3. Hi Bob, I appreciate your service in assembling this information and comparing what’s published to daily practice. Have you had any confirmation that the British Virgin Islands is considered part of the current “Travel Bubble?” I’d like to sail for Antigua directly from the BVI at the beginning of April and am trying to budget for any quarantine time.

    1. Greetings Kristiann,
The official position is that the BVI is still in the ‘travel bubble’, however I have asked for confirmation from Customs in Antigua just to be sure. No response yet. Stay tuned.
You will need a negative PCR test within seven days of leaving the BVI. Your transit time will count against the imposed 14 day’self isolation’, as long as you don’t make any port calls along the way.
Self-isolation means you will have to stay on board for the balance of 14 days (14 days upon arrival minus transit days from BVI) but you will be free to cruise around in Antiguan waters….just don’t get off the boat. With quarantine, you would still have to remain on board for the balance of 14 days, but you would have to anchor in a designated area…no moving around…no fun.
Once your self-isolation period is over, you can then go ashore and clear in with Customs and Immigration.
I will post any update to the BVI bubble status, if it has changed.
      Safe passage,
      Bob

  4. Good day
We live in Guadeloupe and would like to sail with our own sailing boat from Guadeloupe to virgin british island at the end of january and make a stop first to antigua/Barbuda/sint barth/anguilla before going to Virgin island.
Can you explain us covid’s protocol to do this or perhaps do you have a best plan to go to Virgin island ?
    Thank you
    Regards

    1. Greetings,
As Guadeloupe is not in the established ‘travel bubble’ you will have to quarantine upon arrival in Antigua.
I recommend you read the complete Travel Advisory document on this website, and pay particular attention to sections 5 and 11.
      Safe travels,
      Bob

  5. That is precious information and it really helps !

Looking forward to discover this beautiful island and hopefully it’s people.

  6. From Bill:
Check out post on Facebook. We are in St Lucia and will sail to Antigua but it seems different stories for different boats. The Salty Dawg Rally says ok for English Harbor???

    Response from eSeaClear:
Yes, confusion reigns. You can indeed check out of English Harbour, same as Jolly Harbour, but all smaller vessels can only clear in at Nevis Street Pier at Heritage Quay.

Only charter/super yachts can clear in at English Harbour.

Changes almost every day. I think my blog site is up to date…for now.

  7. From Diane:
Please can you update information on your website. You can NOT check in at English harbour. We followed all the eseaclear information, have pre arrival negative Covid tests, sailed from St Lucia arriving after closing yesterday (Sunday). Have gone in this morning and told we have to go to St John’s to check-in!

Real pain as we are due for works on the boat in Falmouth tomorrow!

Oh well … Motoring to St John’s as I type as no wind.

    Response from eSeaClear:
Sorry to hear about your troubles clearing in.

I heard from Customs just now that English Harbour is open for inbound, so they are looking into why you were refused entry.

Evidently English Harbour is only open for inbound Charter/Super yachts. All smaller vessels have to clear in at Nevis Street Pier, Heritage Quay in St. John’s.

I have posted an update to the Blog as a result of your observations, so many thanks for the heads-up. Doesn’t help you I am afraid, but hopefully spares some others’ grief.

Did I miss something or get it wrong?
